Get to Know Me

I’m Gwen Preston, a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) based in Ottawa.  Finding balance and direction in life are challenges we all face. Counselling therapy can help improve your quality of life, and together, we can help you achieve your goals. I hold a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. I can help you identify patterns and goals, and equip you with helpful tools to overcome barriers and improve your quality of life. My approach is client-centered and emphasizes psychological flexibility and resilience to effect long lasting change based on your values.

I use integrated techniques tailored to each client. I use strategies from therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT), with a basis of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
